Before you start
This article covers individual (1040) returns. For partnership and corporate returns, see Exporting Business Returns from Juno to ProSeries.
-
Your ProSeries instance needs to be connected to Juno, with the Juno HomeBase custom views created on this workstation. If you haven't done that yet or your clients aren't appearing in the Juno app start with How to Connect ProSeries to Juno.
-
The client's preparation also needs to be complete in Juno: every source document uploaded and Validated, the preparation status reading Validation Completed.
How to Export from Juno to ProSeries
Step 1: Put the Juno app and ProSeries on the same screen
Open the Juno desktop integration app and arrange it alongside ProSeries. Both windows need to stay visible and unobstructed for the entire run. The automation controls the ProSeries window directly, so minimizing a window or letting another application take focus will interrupt the export.

Step 2: Start the export
With the client's return open in ProSeries, open the same client in the Juno app and click Export to ProSeries. Juno will ask how to handle the documents:
- Scan existing forms — matches the documents against forms already present in the open ProSeries return.
- Add all as new — adds every selected document to the return as a new form.
Choose Scan existing forms when continuity matters. Scanning allows Juno to map data into Returning clients, pro-forma returns, and prior year carryovers. Use add all as new for a brand new return with nothing already entered.

Prior to initiating the scan, make sure the desired client's return is open in ProSeries and in the same window as the Juno Integration app.
Step 3: Map your documents
Once the scan is complete, ensure each document is set to the correct export action in the "Action" column on the right hand side of the app. Here you can choose to have a form export as a new form, skip a form, or map a form to a specific place in ProSeries. By default, Juno will skip documents that have been previously exported.

Once your mappings are configured, click "Export to ProSeries" and let Juno enter your data for you!
Step 4: Let the export run
Juno displays an Exporting Documents dialog while the transfer is in progress. You'll see data being entered to ProSeries on screen.
Do not use your mouse or keyboard while the export is running, and do not close the Juno app or the page. Closing during an export may result in an incomplete data transfer.

Step 5: Pausing mid-run with Caps Lock
If you need to do something in ProSeries while the automation is running, turn Caps Lock on. Juno pauses and displays:

Turn Caps Lock off and the export picks up exactly where it left off. To cancel the export entirely, click Stop Run.
Step 6: Export Completes
When the run finishes, Juno displays "Export to ProSeries Completed Successfully — The tax data was successfully exported to ProSeries."

Step 7: Check the export status and review side by side
Back in the document list, each exported document now shows a Last Exported date and Exported By, and the Action column changes from Add to Override. Because the Juno custom views are in place, Juno can detect that the return was exported and reflect that on the preparation.

Preparation Checklist
Now that Juno has exported the majority of data to your ProSeries instance, you can use the Preparation Checklist to make sure all additional fields that Juno does not export to ProSeries get added. Click here to learn more about how to use the Preparation Checklist.
