Finding Documents for Advisor Analysis

How to upload and select documents to run in Advisor Chat and Agents.

Using Advisor with Existing or New Documents

If the document you want Advisor to analyze is already uploaded in another area of Juno, start by selecting the appropriate client.

Important Note: Advisor supports both individual and business clients. Before getting started, ensure that the selected client has the appropriate entity type for the return or source documents you want analyzed.

Once the client is selected, navigate to Documents and choose the specific files you want Advisor to review. If the documents are already available in the Preparer or Reviewer sections, simply ensure the correct ones are selected.

After confirming your selection, click “Add to Analysis”, then enter your prompt for Advisor.

Uploading Documents Directly in Advisor

If the documents are not yet uploaded in Juno, you can add them directly within Advisor. Click “Attach Files” and select the documents from your computer.

After you select the documents, please ensure that the document type is set correctly in this drop down before clicking "Continue".

Once uploaded, they will be available for analysis.

Understanding Document Requirements for Advisor Agents

Advisor agents are designed to analyze specific types of documents. When you open an agent, you’ll see a list of clients along with an indication of whether the required documents are available.

  • If the required documents are present, you can proceed with analysis.

  • If they are missing, the agent will clearly indicate what is needed.

For most agents, this will be the tax return (e.g., Form 1040). However, some agents require additional supporting documents, such as:

  • Retirement planning documents

  • Schedule A (itemized deduction) details

If you see a message such as “1040 Required” or “Source Documents Required”, you can upload the necessary files in a Preparer, Reviewer, or Advisor. As long as the documents are uploaded anywhere in Juno, the Advisor agent will be able to access them.

Important Note: Advisor agents are built for specific use cases and are typically designed for a single return type. If you need a similar analysis for a different return type, you can create a detailed custom prompt to guide Advisor in generating a comparable response.
