Part 1: Configuring CCH Axcess for Juno Business Preparation Data
Please Note: You only need to complete Part 1 once per return entity type.
Step 1: Download the Tax File In Juno
Upload your documents into the Juno web app by dragging and dropping, choosing a file, or connecting via the Quickbooks or Xero integration.
Once your documents are uploaded, click Continue in the bottom right to go to the validation screen.
Validate all documents, then click the green Download button.
A CSV file will be saved to your computer. You'll use this file to bring the data into CCH Axcess.
Step 2: Enable General Ledger Direct
Open the client in CCH Axcess. This can be a new or existing client.
At the top of the screen, click GL Direct (also labeled General Ledger Direct).
On the left-hand side, select Activate GL.
4. In the settings that appear:
Set Chart of Accounts to import from imported data or data entry.
Set Tax Codes to Standard.
Leave Report Date blank.
Activating the General Ledger will unlock additional menu options at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Configure a Custom Import Template
Click GL Direct at the top of the screen.
Select Configure> Configure Custom Import.
Click Add to create a new import template.
Name the template (e.g., Juno Import).
Under Import File, click browse and select the export file you downloaded from Juno. Click Open.
Set Start at Row to 2 (row 1 is the header row).
Set the delimiter to Comma.
Click OK.
On the column mapping screen, map the columns as follows:
10. Click OK. Your template is now saved and available for all future imports.
Part 2: Importing a Business Preparation into CCH Axcess
Important Note: If you have not yet configured CCH Axcess to support Juno Business preparation data please scroll up and complete the steps outlined in “Configuring CCH Axcess for Juno Business Preparation Data.” You only need to complete the above step once.
Step 1: Import the Juno Export File
In the top menu, click GL Direct, then select TB Import.
Choose Custom Import and select the template you created in Part 1.
Browse to and select the export file you downloaded from the Juno web app. Click Save.
On the right-hand side of the import options dialog, check these four boxes:
Import account descriptions
Import accounts with zero balances
Import tax codes
Import account types
Click Import.
If any rows in the file have an issue, CCH will surface an error indicating the specific row. Resolve the issue in the file and re-import.
When prompted to confirm, click Yes. The import is now complete.
Step 5: Review the Imported Data
After the import completes, review the data in the Chart of Accounts before applying it to the return.
In the top menu, click GL Direct, then. Select Chart of Accounts.
Sort by Description (or any other field) to make line by line review easier.
Compare the values in CCH against your Juno export file to confirm accuracy.
No data has been applied to the tax return yet at this stage.
Step 6: Apply Data to the Tax Return
Once you have reviewed the data and are satisfied:
In the top menu, click GL Direct, then select GL to Tax.
At the bottom of the screen, choose whether to keep or remove any existing data in the return:
Keep -if you have existing entries you want to preserve.
Remove - if this is a fresh import or you want to replace existing data.
Click OK
A confirmation screen will appear showing the data has been processed. Click OK.
All account data is now mapped and visible inside the tax return.
