As you prepare your environment for the 2025 tax year, there are two important configuration steps required for Lacerte.
You will need to update your Lacerte data location in the Integration App. This is an organization-level setting and only needs to be completed once by a single user.
Additionally, each computer or virtual machine that hosts a Lacerte instance must update its 64b SDK individually. The most recent 64b SDK can be found on Intuits developer page, here. This is required by Intuit.
Because the Lacerte Path is applied instantly across all user accounts, all users must be working in the same tax year—meaning you can’t export 2025 data while another user is exporting 2024.
Step 1: Update your Lacerte path to the 25tax folder
In order to push data for 2025 preparations in Juno to 2025 returns in Lacerte, you need to update your Lacerte location in the Juno Integration App to the 25tax folder.
Watch the below video to see how to update your Lacerte location in the Juno Integration App.
If your firm uses a non-standard folder structure - contact us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to help ensure you are properly set up for tax season.
Step 2: Ensure your Lacerte SDK is up to date
Lacerte releases several 64b SDK updates throughout the year (especially between December and February). If you notice Juno struggling to connect to your Lacerte instance it is likely due to an outdated 64b SDK. The most recent version can be downloaded from Intuit here.
You can ensure you have the latest Lacerte SDK by going to your Apps and searching for Lacerte. You will want to ensure your version matches the version shown in the image below.
If your version does not match what is shown above, the below video the Juno team walks you through how to confirm you have the correct 64b SDK.
Important Note: After downloading and installing the latest 64b SDK you'll need to restart your machine for it to work properly.
Lacerte users who use a third party hosting service such as Rightworks, Verito, or Apps4rent should have the latest 64b SDK installed by default. If not, please contact your Account Manager at your hosting provider and prompt them to install the latest 64b SDK and restart.
