Overview
Within Juno you’ll see three primary user levels: Org Admin, Admin, and User. Each role carries a different scope of permissions and responsibility. Assigning the correct role ensures the right access and controls for your firm’s workflows.
Role Breakdown
Org Admin
The Org Admin is the top-level administrative role in your Juno organization. This role has full control over all organization-level settings, billing, user management, and configuration. The Org Admin can create, invite, and manage users across the organization (including giving Admin or User roles). They are able to customize organizational settings, such as toggling security features like 2FA, data-review bypass, renaming document upload behavior, integrations, etc.
Admin
The Admin role is a step below the Org Admin but still has elevated permissions beyond a typical “User”. Admins can invite new users, view billing info and manage team assignments. Admins will often manage day-to-day user administration, permissions for team members, and act as stewards of the platform without full “owner” rights. They are trusted to manage most of the administrative tasks.
User
The User role is the standard day-to-day user account. This is typically someone who uses Juno to work on tax preparation, document review, data extraction, and client work. Users do not have access to billing, subscription, or major configuration settings. They focus on the operational tasks within the platform (uploading documents, reviewing data extraction, exporting to tax software, etc.).

Additional Notes & Best Practices
All users in Juno have access to all of our tools (Preparer, Reviewer, Binder, Assistant, and Advisor), as well as Juno Support, regardless of role.
It’s advisable to limit the number of Org Admins to reduce risk of unintended configuration changes or security exposure.
Regularly review who has Admin or Org Admin privileges and confirm they still require them.
Establish an internal policy for role-assignments: for example, Org Admin = Firm Owner, Admin = Tax Reviewer, User = Staff Tax Preparer.
How to Assign & Change Roles
As an Org Admin (or Admin with rights), navigate in Juno to Organization → Invite User.
Enter the user’s basic information (name, email, role) and select the appropriate role (Org Admin / Admin / User).
Once invited, the user receives an email, clicks the link, and joins the organization.
If you later need to change a user’s role, go to Users in the organization panel, locate the user, click the role dropdown, and select a new role. (Note: standard Users cannot change their own role; only Admins/Org Admins can.)
Notify the user of the role change so they understand any new responsibilities or limitations.
